HCMNews: Auto brands drive significant sales from health club members
Recent research indicates health club members dramatically over-index for being 'in the market' for a new car, while many also can't recall traditional car ads; explaining HCMN's increasing popularity with auto brands.

As the auto industry continues to try to recover from steep sales drops in 2008 and 2009, many forward-thinking brands are looking to advertise and market in venues that are both part of their target audience's daily driving routine and also can deliver a strong concentration of active car customers.  

A number of top auto brands are leveraging the Health Club Media Network (HCMN) in these efforts; and their initiatives are being strongly validated by third party research.

Recent third party health club exit survey research conducted on behalf of HCMN's auto clients have revealed the following insightful and compelling data:

  • Well over 30% of health club members surveyed indicated they were likely to be in the market to purchase or lease a new vehicle sometime in the next two year – more than double the expectations of the HCMN auto brand client for whom this study was conducted.

  • Nearly 40% of those surveyed in a separate research study could not recall a single tv or print ad by the HCMN auto client in the past 90 days, other than the ads they had seen in their health club – despite this brand investing substantially in a comprehensive national advertising campaign during this time.

HCMNews: HCMN hires seasoned OOH agency exec as VP of Sales

Health Club Media Network has announced the hiring of Jennifer Bolnick, most recently at Kinetic Worldwide, for the position of Vice-President, Eastern Regional Sales Manager. Bolnick will provide leadership and direction to HCMN's East Coast sales team out of the company's NY office.

Bolnick comes to HCMN with a dozen years in the media planning and buying industry, primarily in OOH. Starting at Ogilvy & Mather as an Assistant OOH Media Planner, Bolnick has honed her skills at Carat, Mediacom, Zenith and Kinetic Worldwide, where she was the company's OOH Business Director.

Commenting on her hiring, Bolnick said, "I've been a customer of HCMN's for a many years on behalf of my clients. I've always been impressed with the organization and watched it grow to become, by far, the leading provider of media and marketing opportunities in the exciting and increasingly popular place-based venue of health clubs. I am thrilled to be joining such a vibrant and successful organization and look forward to playing a significant role in the company's continued growth and development," she added.
